Eco Tasar is a social enterprise that produces handmade artisanal textiles with a natural fiber like Tasar silk, linen, cotton and wool, and styles them into exquisite and elegant products for the discerning buyer.

Eco Tasar products are sustainable, involving almost zero carbon footprint production processes.

Eco Tasar manufactures brands in India and all over the world. It has a vertically integrated production set-up with its own cadre of yarn makers, weavers, finishing and dyeing facilities, and a fully compliant cut and sews facility.

We are based in India and specialize in hand-woven textiles.

EcoSareeClub strictly abides by the green concept and makes sure that its product has zero or negligible carbon print. The process of manufacturing is predominantly by hand and is also pro-poor as it creates work for many small artisans and producers in the handloom chain…

ECOWALLART.COM is a division of EcoTasar, which designs and produces the finest collection of textile and mixed material wall art using traditional weaving and other textiles techniques like embroidery, etc.

Promoted and run by a team of designers and craftsmen from diverse backgrounds and skillsets who came together to design and manufacture unique and customized wall art pieces for homes, offices, restaurants, and hotels.

All our wall art pieces are conceived individually and are unique pieces.

Our Infrastructure





Fabric weaving units
Our weaving units are in Bhagalpur(Bihar) with the capacity to weave up to 70,000 meters a month. We primarily use cotton, silk, linen, viscose, and wool. We have access to over 400 handlooms and 100 power looms. In both places, we have our own office and staff to coordinate and control production and quality.

Dyeing unit
We also have a state-of-the-art dyeing unit that can dye over 10 metric tonnes of yarn and 20,000 meters of fabric.

Stitching unit
Our stitching unit is in Manesar, Haryana with 80 machines and all peripheral equipment like buttonhole machine, fusing, needle detector, embroidery, ironing, etc machines. We can stitch over 50,000 pieces of the garment a month.

This unit is fully compliant (audited by Omega Compliance, Hongkong). Additionally, we have the requisite systems and compliance like CT PAT, etc.


We have a social agenda to create sustainable work for small producers for Handloom textile chain.

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) is a global not-for-profit organization and the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in, and better for the sector’s future.

Craftmark authenticates genuine hand-crafted processes from all over India. Craftmark develops sector-wide, process-specific standards and norms for labeling a product as hand-made and increases consumer awareness of distinct handicraft traditions. Under this initiative, AIACA licenses the Craftmark seal to artisan organizations, craft-based businesses, cooperatives, and NGOs for use on their products.

Silk Mark is a certification mark in India for silk textiles. The mark certifies that the piece of textile which bears the mark is made of pure natural silk. The certification is managed by the ‘Silk Mark Organisation of India’, a society set up by the state-controlled Central Silk Board of India.

Handloom Mark is the Government of India’s initiative to provide a collective identity to the handloom products in India and can be used not only for popularizing the hand woven products but can also serve as a guarantee for the buyer that the product being purchased is genuinely hand woven from India.

ISO certification is a seal of approval from a third party body that a company runs to one of the international standards developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Fair Trade Forum-India (FTF-I) is the National Network for Fair Trade in India. It works with more than 250,000 producers -artisans and farmers- through more than 100 member organizations. It is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization- WFTO, which is the global face of Fair Trade.

What is Eco Tasar all about?

We believe that there is scope for a business to be profitable and also be beneficial to poor communities. Our business model engages with and helps create work for traditional textile supply chain producers who are otherwise becoming uncompetitive. We leverage our marketing outreach and knowledge to create demand for handmade items which are otherwise finding it difficult to be sustainable.

Our mission is to create large scale wage opportunity for tribal producers of silk cocoons, women yarn makers, weavers, and other small producers, artisans, and service providers in our textiles value chain using a sustainable and fair business model so that they do not have to migrate in search of work.

In terms of design does the looms follow the traditional pattern or are contemporary as well?

We use the looms weaving capability to develop contemporary designs by leveraging innovative combinations in yarn, colors, and weaves.

Where is the brand based in and which clusters of workers does it employ?

Though we are based in Delhi, our entire production happens in Bihar and Jharkhand.
